Accountants for Good was established by Amit Bansal, whose personal journey and professional career reflect a unique combination of financial expertise, investigative experience, and a strong commitment to creating positive community impact through purpose-driven accountancy.
Amit’s parents moved to Ireland in 1983, and he was educated at St Andrew’s College, Dublin, where he completed his secondary schooling. He went on to study BA Economics and Finance at NUI Maynooth, before further advancing his academic training with an MSc in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE).
Prior to founding Accountants for Good, Amit built an extensive professional career across some of the most respected financial and regulatory institutions in the UK and Ireland. He trained with Ernst & Young (EY) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant, becoming a full member of Chartered Accountants Ireland (ACA).
Amit’s career also includes specialist forensic and investigative roles within high-profile organisations. He worked as a Forensic Accountant at the London Stock Exchange, supporting corporate investigations and regulatory reporting, and later served as a Security Cleared Forensic Accountant and Investigator with the UK Serious Fraud Office, contributing to major complex fraud These roles strengthened his expertise in governance, compliance, integrity, and financial accountability at the highest level.
After more than a decade working in corporate finance, forensic accounting, and professional services, Amit chose to resign from the corporate world to establish an independent practice aligned with his values. Accountants for Good was founded with a clear mission: to provide trusted financial guidance to charities, not-for-profits, and community organisations that deliver meaningful social impact
